my name is Robin and this is my resume/cv

About Me

Upon leaving high school I began studying Media Technology. In addition, I also taught classes in Object Orientented Programming, first at Eduvision (private education), and later at the University of Rotterdam. I then completed a work placement at 'Woedend!'. After finishing my studies, I went to work for a number of different companies, firstly as a developer and later as Technical Manager. I continued to work as a teacher in order to continue developing my skills of communication. My out-going nature has been an advantage throughout my career. I endeavour, wherever possible, to bridge the gap between technology and communication. In recent years I have been heavily involved in Internet development, especially on the technical side. Next to being involved from a technical perspective, I've managed Projects as a Project Manager which gives me a good global overview of software projects. After being involved in implementations and consulting I've steered my career towards Sales Engineering. Sales Engineering combines everything I've learned in the past and allows me to use this knowledge to convince prospects.

My education and experience has been wide-ranging, and I am enthusiastic, communicative, analytical and able to engage easily with people from all walks of life.

2014 - Current
Global Head of Sales Engineering
Managing the global Sales Engineering team, to support all sales cycles world wide. In the past 2 years I've assebled a global team of professional, talented and highly driven sales engineers to support Regional Sales Directors with their sales cycles.
2013 - 2014
Head of Sales Engineering EMEA
Managing the EMEA Sales Engineering team, to support all sales cycles in EMEA.
2012 - 2013
Sales Engineer
As a Sales Engineer my goal is to take away prospects concerns, mostly from a technical perspective. By presenting, demoing and workshopping I'm supporting sales executives to get deals closed. What I love most? Pitching and doing deep-dives in a competitive bidding process. I like to give that little bit extra to get things done! I'm not scared of traveling. Currently I am abroad about 20% - 30% of my time.

Next to being customer facing, my responsibility is also to provide our company feedback, coming from prospects. Therefore I'm very much involved in meetings with all departments throughout the company.

Sales Cycles won, which I've supported:Deutsche Bank, Nationwide Bank, Sberbank, Van Lanschot Bank, KPN Telecom, ING Bank, ABN AMRO Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Post Finance Bank, Olympus, Bank 24, Post Finance, Bank Hapoalim
2011 - 2012

As Project Manager at Backbase I was responsible for delivery of multiple Backbase Software implementations at Enterprise level.

Robin is hands down the best hiring manager I've worked with till date. The way he sticks with keeping his team culture alive is inspiring. Robin has a natural way for determining fit, and will turn down star candidates if he does not feel that cultural match. It's the only valid way to build a team and you can see it paying off when you see his Pre-Sales team in action.

Robin is a fully armed pre-sales engineer: strong technological background, experience with cloud and mobile, hard working, people oriented and an absolute pleasure to work with. Next to a commercial and goal-driven attitude, he adds that extra goodwill that people like to buy from.
I had the pleasure of working closely with him, and next to strong sales results, he brought us an excellent pair of eyes and ears in the market. Would I do it again? Yes, please!
